"THE BEST PART OF THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM IS THE BONDING THAT HAPPENS BETWEEN TEAMMATES WHILE WE ALL REMAIN ACTIVE AND COMPETITIVE." - JACK F. '16, Freshman Class of 2017

Leadership and Character Development

Tuxedo Park School values effort and excellence both in and out of the classroom. Students take the field each fall, winter, and spring to participate on competitive interscholastic athletic teams where they learn important skills such as teamworkself-disciplineresponsibility, and sportsmanship. Students in Grades 6 through 9 work together as a team, support one another, and help each other succeed.

“I love athletics and being captain gives me a great opportunity to channel that love into helping lead my TPS team on and off the fields. Overall being elected captain makes me feel respected by my teammates, and excited about being a vital leader in our athletic program.” -Peggy S., Field Hockey Captain

“It is a great honor to be the captain of a sports team, because everybody is looking up to you as a role model. Being captain teaches me about responsibility. -Katie B., Volleyball Captain

“I’m really excited for this season, to lead my team as captain. I will cheer on each and every one of my teammates during their matches to help them become a confident and positive player whether they’re winning or losing. I will also demonstrate sportsmanship for the team to follow.” -Emma S., Tennis Captain

“Being captain doesn't mean you have to be the best player. As captain you have to lead by example and help the team develop a bond.”- Anna N., Volleyball Captain
