"THESE SCHOOLS ARE ALL GAINING EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE. EACH OF US HAS TRAITS THAT MAKE US UNIQUE, BUT WE ALL HAVE THREE THINGS IN COMMON. WE ARE KIND. WE ARE FAIR. WE ARE RESPONSIBLE." - KATE F., '13

Secondary School Placement

The objective of the secondary school placement process is to guide students and families to high schools that best meet each student’s talents, aspirations, and skills. The Director of Secondary School Placement, Kristen Heard, works with families to help place students in high school programs - boarding schools, day schools, and public high schools. Ms. Heard helps students and families navigate the selection of and application to boarding schools, as well as to application-based public high school programs. In addition, she acts as a liaison with public high schools, working to place students in appropriate courses. Students attending public schools after their time at Tuxedo Park School regularly qualify for advanced standing and honors courses. Parents and students work closely with administrators and faculty during this process. Families are welcome to take advantage of the books, catalogues, and videos available in the secondary school placement office. View recent secondary school acceptances here.

School Visits at TPS
We have several admissions representatives from schools visiting throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for interested eighth and ninth graders to meet with someone from the school during recess or lunch, find out about its offerings, culture, and values, and then decide if it is a school they’d like to visit. Schools are currently scheduling Fall visits, so be sure to check back soon for a schedule.
