A Tuxedo Park education is an investment in your child's future.
Providing an independent education requires financial planning and
considerable sacrifice for most families. We are committed to making
a TPS education affordable to all academically qualified students
regardless of their financial circumstances. TPS supports a financial
aid budget that represents approximately 10 percent of the school's
annual operating budget and students receiving financial aid represent
approximately 17 percent of our student body.
Applicants for grades 3 through 9 wishing to be considered for
financial aid should answer "yes" to the financial aid
question on the application for admission and return it to the TPS
Admission Office.
Parents should request a Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) from
the TPS Admissions Office. Once the PFS is completed, the parent
should send it to the School
and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) by February 1st.
(The parents should make a copy of the PFS form and send it to TPS
prior to sending it to SSS.) SSS is a service of the National Association
of Independent Schools (NAIS) used by schools nationwide to help
assess a family's ability to pay school costs.
SSS analyzes the information on the PFS to estimate the family's
ability to pay educational expenses and TPS receives the results
of the analysis.
In addition to the PFS statement, parents will need to do the following
to complete the financial aid file:
- Sign the IRS 4506 form and submit to the TPS Admission Office.
- Send a completed, signed copy of the current year's income tax
forms with all schedules to the TPS Admission Office.
In the case of parents who are divorced or separated, or parents
who have never married, both natural parents and their spouses,
if any, complete a PFS form and submit their 1040 tax returns. Please
contact the Admission Office if you need additional forms.
All financial aid decisions are made by the Financial Aid Committee.
