After a summer filled with preparations and protocols, Tuxedo Park School has opened our doors to in-person learning. This marks our 121st year teaching children, and though many things about the start to this year feel different, the smiles, joy, and excitement of students and faculty on the first day of school is timeless and steadfast. After six trying months apart, the first day was an emotional reunion for friends, families, and colleagues.
After hand sanitizing and temperature screening, students settled into their classrooms to connect with teachers, old friends, and new ones before gathering as a school on the front field, socially distanced. With beautiful Blairhame as our backdrop, we welcomed our 31 new students, inducted the new students onto their Green or Gold team, and rang the bell—a long-standing TPS tradition. We look forward to another year, under one roof, where the halls of Blairhame are filled with enthusiasm and curiosity; this is the essence of TPS.
Our small school makes a big difference in our students' lives, particularly at this moment. With our students' return, our bucolic campus is complete again, and we could not be happier!
