Tuxedo Park School proudly celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day during Friday's assembly.
"It was a wonderful way to recognize and celebrate his great contributions to society," said Head of School Todd Stansbery following the assembly.
Every grade, pre-K through ninth grade, paid tribute to Dr. King, his life, and legacy.
Highlights from each grade included:
-Pre-K sang songs
-Kindergarten drew pictures of Dr. King's childhood
-First grade recited a poem
-Second grade cited how they would follow in Dr. King's footsteps
-Third grade created a human timeline
-Fourth grade described their dreams
-Fifth grade created a peaceful protest
-Sixth grade honored Ella Baker, Bob Moses and Nina Simone
-Seventh grade explained Dr. King's six principles of nonviolence
-Eighth grade wrote magnetic poems out of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech
-Ninth grade discussed leaders who were inspired by Dr. King
