The middle school concert band applies musical concepts introduced in TPS general music classes. Students continue their music education through focused study on music fundamentals including rhythmic study and note reading, as well as dynamics, articulations, ensemble blend, and sight-reading. Students enjoy a varied repertoire inclusive of popular music as well as classics.
Upper school band students expand their musical vocabulary through the study of jazz, improvisation, and a more sophisticated repertoire. Both ensembles perform in the winter and spring concerts as well as during the annual grandparents day celebration and graduation.
