How Do I Apply to TPS?

TPS offers two options for families to apply.  Feel free to use either online option: 

TPS Application

• Create an account for Tuxedo Park School
• Complete the application for TPS

SAO (Standard Application Online)

• Create an account for the Enrollment Management Association
• Using this account you can register for the SSAT, Character Skills Snapshot, Standard Application Online (accepted by many schools), or Admission Academy.

What Information is required to complete an admission application?

To be considered for admission to TPS, all families must submit an online admission application for each child.  All other supplementary forms required for admission to TPS may be found in the application portal and returned for review electronically.  

Important notes:  

• TPS requires both Report Cards and Teacher Recommendations to complete your child’s admission file through the application portal.  

• September 1 is the cutoff date for grade placement.

Please note, a completed application (TPS or SAO), along with supplementary forms and the $100 application fee is required and must be submitted before your child can be scheduled for a student classroom visit or TPS Assessment.  

Priority applications are due by February 1

STUDENT CLASSROOM VISIT & TPS ASSESSMENT

Once a completed admission application is received by the Admissions Office, including supplementary forms (Report Cards and Teacher Recommendation(s), we will contact you to schedule a Classroom Visit for your child.

All visiting students should arrive at the Admissions Office at 8:25 a.m. 

• Pre-Kindergarten: Students applying to Pre-K visit on a weekday morning for between one and two hours.

• Kindergarten: Students applying to Kindergarten visit Tuxedo Park School for a half day (8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.).

• Grades 1-9: Applicants spend a full day at TPS with students in their current grade level. 

When or how does my child complete their TPS Assessment?

The assessment will either be scheduled on the same day as your child’s Student Classroom Visit or at a later date. All assessments are age and developmentally appropriate. They are currently being administered by TPS’ Learning Specialist. 

ADMISSIONS NOTIFICATION AND NEW FAMILY INFORMATION

Once your child has completed the application process, the Admissions Committee will meet to review their applicant file. For classes where there is available space, we can offer an enrollment agreement immediately through the application portal to accepted students.

After this step is completed, the Director of Admission will be in touch regarding the application status.

Enrollment Agreement and Deposit
In order to enroll your child at TPS, families accept the offer of enrollment by returning the signed enrollment agreement with the non-refundable deposit by the agreement date via the application portal. The enrollment deposit is credited toward tuition.  All payments, including tuition are processed through Blackbaud Tuition Management.

After your child’s enrollment is complete, the Admissions Office will send information on next steps and give access to our new family portal.
